Sales in a technical environment.

We seek a dynamic, intelligent and professional individual, able to forge strong personal client relationships by means of the following attributes:

  • become able to provide excellent and swift technical advice

A technical qualification, mechanical or electrical, is advantageous for this position. Alternately, technical sales experience is needed or an extremely good aptitude to learn about things of a technical nature, especially topics relating to electrical automation, power transmissions and general industrial applications. The person would need to at least have a genuine natural interest in these type of things.

A good track record showing excellence in negotiation, B2B sales, product knowledge etc is essential to serve as an indication that a person is able and willing to dig deeper and come out higher.

The daily activity will be split between developing new business and maintaining existing business. Initially New Business will be the primary objective; as time progresses, naturally a greater amount of the daily activity will be spent on maintaining customers.

The individual needs to be able to identify, assess, confront and resolve opportunities and challenges.

The individual needs to be able to handle a high work load and able to handle long term projects, remaining optimistic while finding creative solutions to challenges.

Depending on the individual, the basic will be in the range of R12,000.00 to R15,000.00, a provident fund and medical aid is negotiable within this figure. Vehicle is provided (all vehicle costs are covered). Laptop, cell phone, air time etc is provided.

On target commission will be approximately R8000 additional income. It is important to understand that reasonable commission can only be expected as success in new business is achieved.

This position will suit a person seeking a career with long term expectations.

Please note the natural progression that can be expected:

1.      Initial Appointment:  Trainee (3 month contract)

  • only the basic salary will apply
  • successful training is mandatory in order to proceed to the next level


2.      Secondary Appointment:  Sales (6 month contract)

  • basic salary, comm, vehicle, laptop & cell applies
  • continuous training applies


3.      Final Appointment:     Sales Developer (permanent contract)

  • basic salary, comm, vehicle, laptop & cell applies

We expect opportunities to grow within the company. As and when the need for new positions becomes available, we would firstly consider promoting from within.

Furthermore, confidentiality regarding product costing, customers, operations, etc is of exceptional importance hence the reason that a restraint of trade will be applicable for this position.
